What is APT?
APT, or Advanced Persistent Threat, increasingly poses a threat to organizations throughout the world. APT attacks target the financial industry, manufacturing industry, research industry, and research operations. What makes an APT intruder different than the usual attacker is their perseverance and resources. They have malware that circumvents common safeguards such as anti-virus software and tend to generate more activity than the typical “drive by attacks” on the Internet. Defending against these types of attacks usually requires time-consuming monitoring, which can quickly deplete a budget.
